The Year’s Largest Express Entry Draw Issues 2,850 PR Invites

Canada invited 2,850 Express Entry candidates on March 12, 2024, in the general round of invitations.

The new Express Entry draw marked the year’s biggest invitation round in the general category, with the lowest CRS score requirement. The minimum CRS score for the March 12 General Category Express Entry draw was 525 points. There was a drop of 9 points in the CRS cut-off compared with the February 16 general draw.

The recent Express Entry draw shows a significant volume of Express Entry profiles in the present pool, with CRS scores between 500 and 525 points. A conservative estimate puts the number of such profiles at 7,500. Successful candidates can expect to receive the Invitation to Apply in their inbox within 24 hours.

The Express Entry draws in the recent past underscore the return of bi-weekly invitation rounds, as Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held weekly Express Entry draws under the general category in January 2024.

Canada invited 16,110 Express Entry candidates through six invitation rounds in February 2024. IRCC may hold a category-based Express Entry draw sooner to invite candidates with skilled experience in high-demand occupations. The category-based Express Entry draws are helpful for candidates with active Express Entry profiles.
