PNP candidates grabbed a whopping 51 percent share of Express Entry invitations in 2022, highlighting the importance of provincial nomination in the Express Entry system for selecting candidates for permanent residence.
The 2022 data by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) confirms 19,160 PNP candidates in the Express Entry pool received Invitations to Apply (ITAs) out of the total 37,315 ITAs issued in the last year. PNP candidates accounted for 51 percent of ITAs, underlining the significance of PNP nominations.
Most candidates receiving Express Entry invitations had CRS scores between 491 and 600. A total of 19,160 candidates had provincial nominations adding 600 points to individual CRS scores. Their CRS scores were higher than 600 points.
Enhanced nominations
Many Canadian provinces select Express Entry candidates for provincial nomination as they have better chances of integrating with the province’s job market and economy to settle permanently. These enhanced nominations add 600 points to the Express Entry candidates’ CRS scores.
The second-highest group of Express Entry candidates receiving Invitations to Apply in 2022 were from Canadian Experience Class (12,960 ITAs), followed by the Federal Skilled Worker program (5,200 ITAs).
