Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada held the fourth Express Entry draw of 2024 on January 31, inviting 730 profiles for permanent residency.
The general draw for Express Entry selection required a minimum CRS score of 541 points to receive an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence. There was a minor drop of 2 points in the CRS score from the last Express Entry invitation round.
There is a steady drop in the ITAs in this year’s Express Entry draws as the CRS cut-off scores stay in the higher bracket. The first Express Entry draw of the year sent 1,520 invitations. IRCC issued 1,040 invitations to apply for permanent residence in the subsequent Express Entry draw on January 23, 2024.
Canada operates Express Entry as the online application management system covering the three most significant economic immigration pathways:
Federal Skilled Worker Program
Federal Skilled Trades Program
Canadian Experience Class
Express Entry holds periodic invitation rounds leveraging the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) for the competitive selection of candidates in the pool, having the highest CRS scores. CRS assigns scores to individual candidates in the Express Entry pool by evaluating their education, age, occupation, work experience, and language skills.
