The minimum CRS cut-off score was 535 points. The number of active Express Entry profiles touched the figure of 211,273, underscoring the stiff competition for Express Entry selection to receive invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

There is a high probability of more Express Entry draws this week as IRCC conducted the week’s first invitation round on Tuesday. The first Express Entry draw of February 2024 sent a whopping 7,000 Invitations to Apply for Canadian permanent residency. It was a targeted draw for candidates declaring French language proficiency. The minimum CRS score eligibility for the Francophone draw was 365 points.

Launching targeted Express Entry draws in May 2023 was a notable milestone in the history of Express Entry. The targeted Express Entry draw enables Canada to select candidates with specific skills to address demographic and labor market issues.

Targeted draws to select candidates in the Express Entry pool with French language skills is a unique aspect of the Express Entry selection process. There are different categories of targeted draws besides the French-speaking category. These include healthcare, trades, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), transport, agri-food, and agricultural occupations.
