Canada Holds New All-program Express Entry Draw After a Long Gap

The latest Express Entry draw on September 19 inviting 3,200 profiles for Permanent Residence was after a gap of over a month.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada processed 3,200 Invitations to Apply in the latest round of invitations on September 19, 2023. The CRS cut-off for the All-program Express Entry draw witnessed a jump of 35 points over the previous all-program draw.

Canada selects top-scoring profiles in the Express Entry pool through regular draws. The ranking of profiles considers factors such as the candidate’s age, education, language proficiency, adaptability, and work experience. The All-program draws focus on no specific profiles for selection. The last All-program Express draws on August 15, 2023, selected 4,300 candidates with a CRS cut-off of 496 points.

The reason for a higher CRS cut-off in the latest All-program Express Entry draw is the absence of any Express Entry draw for over a month, which led to a larger pool of eligible profiles. All-program Express Entry draws have higher competition among candidates as these aim at attracting global talent. Candidates receiving Invitations to Apply must submit a final PR application within a particular time frame. Express Entry draws highlight seamless transparency for skilled immigration, helping Canada enhance its economy, labor market, and diversity.
