Canada Declares Results of the Latest Express Entry Draw Inviting 4,300 Candidates

Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada held the latest Express Entry Draw on June 27, 2023, issuing 4,300 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence.

The All-Program Express Entry draw on June 27 required a CRS score cut-off of 486 points to receive an invitation for permanent residence. The ITAs will reflect within the successful candidates’ accounts within 24 hours. The new Express Entry draw underlines the beginning of a category-based Express Entry draw, considering various factors other than the CRS scores of the candidates.

The 2023 Express Entry draws will focus on the six categories covering 82 occupations.

Over fifty percent of all occupations belong to the healthcare category besides the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) category, representing a large share of category-based Express Entry draws. Other Express Entry categories include candidates with French-speaking abilities, Agri-food and agriculture, and trades.

The category for candidates with French language proficiency requires a minimum score of 7 in all abilities. A proven work experience of at least six months within three years is mandatory for category-based Express Entry selection in 2023.

The final selection of categories resulted from deliberations among territories, provinces, and other stakeholders. Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship (IRCC) will review the yearly outcome to consider changing the categories annually.
