Foreign nationals planning to visit Canada for tourism, attending events, or international conferences can expect faster visa processing as the country implements measures to align immigration strategies with the changing demographic and economic needs.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada announced while presenting its strategic report about the Immigration System for Canada’s Future. Canada will prioritize visa processing of visitors taking part in events and conferences registered with the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
The new immigration strategy aims to mitigate wait times for visa processing and improve service standards for its clients from across the world. Canada is designing an action plan to deliver a superior welcoming experience for newcomers.
Canada is considering several measures to enhance immigration to boost client experience. In a recent move, Canada made an addition of thirteen countries to the list of partial visa-exempt countries. Travelers and visitors from 67 countries are now exempt from applying for a visa. They can apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) while traveling to Canada. Temporary visitors from these countries can receive approval within minutes.
