The latest Immigration Levels Plan underlines Canada’s increasing focus on the two most vital immigration programs of Express Entry and PNP, as there is a steady rise in their admission targets.
The annual Immigration Levels Plan by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) provides guidelines on admission targets across the main immigration pathways under family, economic, and refugee classes.
Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Programs make up Canada’s largest and most popular immigration programs. These contribute to the highest number of immigrants. IRCC is boosting immigration under these programs by welcoming more permanent residents to meet the country’s growth objectives.
The PNP admission targets were higher than the Express Entry targets in the previous Immigration Levels Plan 2023-25. Canada welcomed 83,500 new permanent residents under eleven Provincial Nominee Programs. The target for PNP admission in 2023 was 105,000 as per last year’s Immigration Levels Plan. The subsequent targets for 2024 and 2025 were 110,000 and 117,500.
The new Immigration Levels Plan sets higher targets for PNP admissions than Express Entry, except for 2024. The immigration targets for PNP admissions are more than Express Entry this year, according to the Immigration Levels Plan 2024-26.
It is the most suitable time to immigrate to Canada, as the country is chasing record-breaking immigration targets and holding back-to-back rounds to invite candidates to apply for permanent residence through PNP and Express Entry draws.
