A whopping one million jobs will help British Columbia register remarkable economic growth as the year 2023 ends.
The latest Labor Market Outlook report provides insights into the industries and careers shaping British Columbia’s economic landscape in 2023 and the next decade.
The highest contribution to the new job openings comes from the province’s retiring workers. Approximately 65 percent of the jobs will be the fallout of BC’s retiring workforce. The next decade will witness the retirement of over nine million Canadian workers. British Columbia will add 345,000 jobs to boost the annual growth in employment by 1.2 percent.
The recent Labor Market Outlook Report projects a 25 percent growth in new immigrants. Nearly 46 percent of job seekers will be immigrants. They will include temporary and permanent residents.
British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) will have a significant role to play in addressing the ambitious workforce expansion initiatives. The province leverages the PNP system to tailor the immigration of skilled workers and entrepreneurs according to provincial needs and goals.
BC PNP holds regular invitation rounds to nominate candidates for permanent residence by issuing Invitations to Apply (ITAs).
