British Columbia Issues 72 Invitations in Latest Provincial Nominee Program Draw

On July 3, 2024, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) held a new draw, issuing 72 invitations to candidates across several key sectors. This draw, which focused on the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams, was aimed at addressing specific labor shortages and fostering economic development.

The technology sector received the largest share of invitations, with 36 candidates invited, requiring a minimum score of 122. This significant number underscores the high demand for tech professionals to support British Columbia’s expanding technology industry.

The childcare sector also received considerable attention, with 14 invitations issued to candidates with a minimum score of 95. This allocation reflects the urgent need for qualified professionals in this vital field of early childhood education and care.

In the construction sector, 13 invitations were extended to candidates with a minimum score of 98. This draw highlights the ongoing requirement for skilled labor to support various infrastructure and development projects across the province.

The healthcare sector received nine invitations, with a minimum score of 106, emphasizing the critical need to strengthen the province’s healthcare workforce. 

The veterinary care sector received fewer than five invitations and a minimum score of 80, indicating a more targeted demand for professionals in this specialized field.

This latest BC PNP draw is part of British Columbia’s strategy to address labor market needs and support economic growth by attracting skilled workers to fill essential roles.
