Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 4,300 Invitations to Apply in the latest invitation round of the All-program Express Entry draw on August 15, 2023.
The August 15 All-program Express Entry draw required candidates to have a minimum CRS score of 496 points. It was the largest all-program draw with lower CRS scores. The last all-program draw on August 1 required a minimum CRS score of 517 points. The all-program Express Entry draw on June 27 issued 4,300 invitations with a CRS cut-off of score 486 points.
There is a slight increase in the CRS cut-off for all-program Express Entry draws because of the category-based Express Entry draws.
Express Entry uses the applicant’s age, education, language proficiency, and work experience to determine the score for ranking the top-scoring candidates. An Invitations to Apply (ITA) enables the candidates to apply for permanent residency.
Category-based Express Entry selection
Canada is focusing on category-based Express Entry draws to enhance the immigration of candidates under the following categories:
STEM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Maths)
Healthcare
Transport
Trades
Agriculture
French language skills
The category-based Express Entry draws help attract eligible immigrants under specific occupation categories and French language abilities.
